There are so many amazing businesses, people and organizations to showcase in Sussex, and I was happy to have that opportunity today when premier Blaine Higgs spent the day in town.

He was invited to meet with business leaders and Mayor Marc Thorne to look over details of the town’s plan for flood mitigation and see some of the areas hardest hit by flooding.

We started our day at McDonalds where we ran into a passionate group of constituents, toured the incredible Alantra Leasing Inc. operation with Marcus deWinter, and talked flooding with Tim Hortons owner Jim Andrew and Pizza Delight owner Ron Baird. We also stopped into the Sussex Sharing Club to learn more about what they do to support our community and finished with ice cream from Sully's Ice Cream Parlour new owner Steven Frits and his daughter Sophia.

We have such an incredible community….and that was just a little sample.

Look who I found in Fredericton on Friday…a few of the amazing actors and teachers of Sussex Regional High School’s spring musical Beauty and the Beast. Students from across the province were at St. Thomas University for DramaFest. I'm sure the judges and audience loved your performance. 🎭
