I am home from Toronto after joining my #ExploreNB team in taking the Bay of Fundy to Bay Street. Ontario is an important tourism market for us so to spread the word of our incredible province we rolled out the red carpet to media influencers, travel writers, airlines and rail lines, film makers and restaurateurs, and many, many more. We want people to visit and fall in love with New Brunswick.

We showcased the most magnificent scenes of New Brunswick, fed them tastes of our favourites like lobster rolls, salmon, fiddleheads and oysters, and we presented the wonderful NB talents of jazz vocalist Dee Hernandez, violinist Dani Sametz, electronic artist Bridges, hip hop band Radio Radio and Mi’kmaw rapper Wolf Castle. We also had a lot fun launching the second season of #maestrochefwes. Maestro Fresh Wes, who has made New Brunswick his home, was a big hit in his old Toronto stomping grounds.

The #ExploreNB team and others from the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture knock it out of the park every time to bring new visitors to grow the economy in New Brunswick.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the incredible women in Sussex-Fundy-St.Martins, my fellow female MLAs, and to my mom, daughter, sister and nieces who are fierce, independent and smart. 💜

This was a great morning in Sussex with events celebrating so many inspirational, local women.

I stopped by to see my friend Jackie McBride and the other rockstar women at Spin North Sussex to make a donation to support domestic violence outreach in the region and try out a bike.

I also dropped into the AX where women from the community were being honoured for the contributions they make, organized by the Sussex & District Chamber of Commerce, the Multicultural Association of Sussex and Community Based Sexual Violence Services (Sussex). Recognized were:

Tammy Morris

Amber Chrystostom

Julie Matthews

Beverly Foote

Carolyn Trecartin

Jodi Ravn

Ark Health Collective (Jill Stockton, Lindsay Bettle and Dr. Kendra Gilmore)

Kathryn Scott

Lori-Anne Lauridsen

Megan Miner

Sarah Smith

Stacey Stairs

Tanya Dunnett

Happy International Women’s Day everyone. 💜💜💜
