It was a great night in Tantramar celebrating the six new inductees of the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame.

The gala honours our province’s very best athletes and builders while inspiring the next generation to achieve excellence in sports. Through the stories of the men and women inducted over the last 54 years, the province’s sporting culture and heritage is preserved.

I enjoyed running into Tantramar Mayor Andrew Black and Sussex native and Hall of Famer Mike Eagles.

2024 inductees include:

-Joël Bourgeois - Athlete - Grand-Digue, steeplechase, cross-country and road racing

-The late Louis Lawrence - Athlete - Fredericton, Boxing

- Catharine Pendrel - Athlete - Harvey Station, Mountain Biking

- The late Jason Peters - Builder – Saint John, Indigenous Sports

- Randy Wilson - Builder – Nackawic, volleyball

- The late Heather Wilbur - Athlete – Moncton, golf
