Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture to Assume Operations of Fundy Trail Parkway

The dream to create the Fundy Trail Parkway along the gorgeous southern coastline of the province began more than 30 years ago, led by passionate volunteers who knew just how spectacular it could be. Now that the Fundy Trail Development Authority has fulfilled its mission to create the signature tourism destination with connections to St. Martins, Sussex and Alma, the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture will take the wheel in December when it will be added to ParksNB’s management and operations responsibilities. It has always been a provincial park but this move requested by the Fundy Trail Development Authority will allow for investment and growth needed to continue to enhance this world-class destination. I am excited for the opportunity and applaud the amazing work that’s been done by founders, board members and staff with significant investments by federal and provincial governments over the years to create this magnificent parkway.
